• The art of block printing begins with crafting the wood block itself. Skilled artisans carefully select a piece of hardwood and shape it into the desired size for the design.Intricate designs are then hand-carved into the block with precision tools, creating a raised pattern that will then transfer onto the fabric.

  • Once the block is ready, the printing process begins: the block is dipped into natural or water-based dyes and pressed firmly onto the fabric, imprinting the design one section at a time.

Each press is deliberate, requiring steady hands and an expert eye to ensure alignment and consistency.

  • After printing the fabric is set aside to dry naturally, allowing the dyes to cure and the design to fully develop.

Once dried the fabric is washed to remove excess dye and soften the material before being crafted into a garment.
