Azo-Free Dyes
Azo-free refers to any dyes that do not contain the main known carcinogenic compounds that have been regulated by the EU. The main countries that dye textiles tend to be in Asia and India and do not have the same strict regulations as in the EU, although legislation is slowly changing. Not only do they complement sensitive skin, but they also help in taking a step forward towards sustainability and protecting the environment.
Block Printing
Block printing is the process of printing patterns by means of engraved wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing; and highly sustainable with no use of electricity and fully degradable blocks. Block printing by hand is a slow process, but it is capable of yielding highly artistic and unique results, some of which are unobtainable by any other production method. Block prints are done by eye, and telltale signs of the human hand, even imperfections, are part of the ineffable humanity and beauty of the craft.
Eco-Friendly Fashion
Eco-friendly fashion refers to goods and services considered to inflict minimal or no harm to the environment.

They leave no harmful residue behind once they break down.
Ethical Sourcing
Ethical Sourcing is the process of ensuring that any products made are obtained through responsible and sustainable methods. Ethical fashion is garment design, production, and distribution that focuses on reducing harm to people and the planet. People-friendly and eco-friendly.
GOTS Certified
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was developed by leading standard setters to define world-wide recognized requirements for organic textiles. From the harvesting of the raw materials, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to labelling, textiles certified to GOTS provide a credible assurance to the consumer. Having one common standard means textile processors and manufacturers can export their fabrics and garments with one organic certification that is accepted in all major markets. This transparency also gives consumers the power to choose truly organic products sourced from green supply chains.
Handloom Weaving
Our handloom fabric is woven on traditional looms in India. Weaving is an ancient craft that dates back through all cultures for thousands of years. It is a slow process, employs more people than machine weaving does, and does not require any electricity, causing less of a carbon footprint. We work with two different hand loom weaving groups in India. One is a charitable trust that is dedicated to supporting the role of women in the craft industry and to making handloom weaving a respected and income-earning career. The other is a not-for-profit dedicated to the sustainability of the hand loom craft, the artisans, and their communities.
Locally Grown
Locally sourced materials obtained from a defined (small) radius around a project site, helping to support the local economy and reducing transportation emissions and energy use.
Low Environmental Impact
Low impact clothing is sustainable (made from natural materials and produced locally where the natural materials are found) and non-corporate (handmade or produced by small businesses, individuals, sole-traders or co-ops).
Natural
A natural material is any product or physical matter that comes from plants, animals, or the ground. Natural fabric is woven or knit from fibers that occur in our natural world, and are non-synthetic.
Natural Dyes
We specialize in using natural dyes derived from plants, roots, bark and other natural materials that are GOTS (organically) certified. We provide garment and short length piece dyeing scalable from small to high volume runs. The colors are earthy, brilliant, non-toxic, and meet standard light and wash tests.
OEKO-TEX® Certified
If a textile or garment is OEKO-TEX® certified, you can be certain that every component of this article, i.e. every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless for human health. The test is conducted by independent OEKO-TEX® partner institutes on the basis of their extensive OEKO-TEX® criteria. In the test they take into account numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health, and go beyond national and international requirements. OEKO-TEX® consists of 18 independent institutes in Europe and Japan.
Organic
Fabric produced without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial agents. Organic clothing is made from materials raised in or grown in compliance with organic agricultural standards.
Recycled
Textile recycling is the process of recovering fiber, yarn or fabric and reprocessing the textile material into other products. Essentially, it’s giving material new life. Recycled fashion refers to clothing made from previously used materials that have been broken down to their original form and reworked into something new.
Sustainable
Sustainable fashion is a movement and process of fostering change to fashion products and the fashion system towards greater ecological integrity and social justice.
Upcycled
Upcycling means using discarded or vintage pieces of clothing or fabric and transforming them into something new and better.
